Disaster Preparedness Planning

The PVP Council of PTAs works with PVPUSD and local police and fire departments to coordinate disaster preparation and planning activities at all school sites within PVPUSD.  Areas where PTAs are involved in the preparation/planning for disaster scenarios at local sites can include:

  • Inventory Supply Checks and Replenishment,
  • Purchase of Disaster Supplies (i.e., triage equipment, Incident Command equipment, food and water supplies, communication devices, etc.),
  • Coordination and Assistance with Site Disaster Drills Twice Per Year,
  • Purchase of First Aid Supplies,
  • Disaster Training (i.e., First Aid Training, etc.)
  • and much more!  PTA membership also provides parents an opportunity to be involved in their child's education

For more information about how PTAs support Disaster Preparedness programming, please contact the PVP Council of PTAs 4th VP and/or your site PTA 4th VP.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is a National/State PTA program to help school leadership address public and student awareness about the problems of substance abuse and promote research-based prevention strategies and programs to support this vitally important subject.  For some school sites, such as at the elementary level, Red Ribbon Week is a time to focus student attention on healthy choices for their bodies.  As student age increases, such as in the middle and high school levels, more direct substance abuse programming is supported.

For more information about the PTA Red Ribbon Week programming, please contact the PVP Council of PTAs 4th VP and/or your site PTA 4th VP.
